(!) The first PSX2 emulator is out and ready for download :
PCSX 2. The emulator currently runs a few demos only but I thought it was worth starting
the PSX2 section here, at The Company. Check out our emus menu on the left and feel free to look at our PSX2 specifications page (with infos on the PS2 and links to various kinds of sites). If you're just interested into the emulator itself, then go to our PCSX2 page and find out all the necessary files (including the demos it runs) BUT the Psx 2 bios. |

(!) AdriPSX ILEhas just been release. What is this ILE
version? AdriPSX version numbering restarts at 1.0.0 with the first version in the ILE
serie. It bring a lot of changes to the gui, the usual options but also an easy setup
feature for beginners or lazy emu users. In addition to this, the new version brings out a
lot of new enhancements over compatibility, seep, stabilty and so on. This is a version
you'd better try out if you're into PSX emulation (and if you're not, it's time to give it
a try). Get the new version from our AdriPSX page. Thanks to NGemu for the news. (!) PSX emulation week? Pete has once again updated his PSX plugins (d3d and ogl. Current version is now 1.59. THe list of changes is way too long to be detailed here but it is really worth the download. You can get it from our PSX plugins page. |

(!) I have seen over at PSXFanatics that a PS2 emulator is
currently in progress. Apparently, it is running a PS2 demo at a decent framerate.
PSXfanatics is a quite reliable source and there is no doubt that something is currently
worked on but I'd like to inform users that the chances for you to play a PS2 emulated
game on your PC within about 2 years is fantasy. So let's just be glad that something is
worked on but let's don't spam authors with nasty requests ;) |

(!) Schibo, author of the neat open source emulator 1964, has released the
pre-release source code for 1964 0.8.0. Yes, this is the source code and NOT the binary.
This was first supposed to be released for 1964's third birthdate a couple days ago but
however, here it is. So if you're interested in the ins & outs of a nextgen emulator, head on to our 1964 page. Thanks to emulation64 for the news. |

been updated to version 1.51. It is improving compatiblity again but adds tons of
interesting graphics based features like MDEC based transparancy (Oddworld, DW4/DW7),
support for Capcom MDECS and much much more. We also added the useful ePSXe setup from NGemu. It includes the latest ePSXe cutor from Pete (a nice frontend, latest CDR plugin and help file) You can download these files from our ePSXe page. |

(!) Several good news for you, "nextgen" emu fans. First of
all, Lordcheese, very cool guy and Dreamemu author has updated his website with some progress reports.
After a long break (and a lot of hassling from us ;), Lordcheese has been workinga bit on
Dreamemu and improved Controller support and FPU a bit. Lordcheese is also working on OGL
support and a dynamic register caching (oftenly reported on emu sites as "Dynarec)
over interpretive mode for better speed issues. (!) Fancy PSX emu news reported at NGemu. First of all, next ePSXe version has been delayed bit it should now include a brand new option called "subchannel". That new emulation mode/option will help emulating original and copy protected games such as Final Fantasy without need for particular patches. Pete, famous PSX emu plygins author has already released a new CDR plugin. And it's subchannel compliant. Still, you'll need need the next ePSXe version to the realm of the subchannel emulated games. Also, according to Pete, that subchannem mode is not compliant with all types of CD-Readers and also slows down CD access. We suggest you to check Pete's site for more informations. The plugin, Pete's CDR v1.10, is available from our PSX plugins page. (!) Emumaniac has posted some new screenshots of the next Nemu version emulating Perfect Dark. Can't wait for the release : According to my informations, the next Nemu version should really break all current standards. |

(!) Dave2001 has posted some more screenshots of his N64 GLIDE plugin
(plugins are now required for most N64 emulators) here. The latest screenshots are some Zelda Ocarina of Time
screenshots proving that the plugin is nicely progressing and emulating more N64 graphics
Ucodes. Let's remember that there are 3 essential Ucodes. |

(!) Today, I saw over at NGEmu.com that both ePSXe and and AdrixPSX new updates were due within
a week. This is a fairly nice news for the Playstation emulation community. If you've
never tried PX emulation that much, remember that all of the necessary files and plugins
are available from our PSx section. (!) I am rarely posting some non emulation related informations but I feel like it is worth it. First of all, you might have noticed some problems on most of our servers : pictures don't show up, broken links and so on. This is atleast partially due to several external services we're using. Apparently, after a short investigation, several important websites went hacked by March, the second. No real explanation is given on the nature of the attack ("Denial of service like" attack, trojans, malicious exploits?) but as a matter of a fact, we're suffering of this and I am sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, it looks like two of our webhosting solutions providers (The Company's network is using 3 different hosting solutions all being different kind of hosting solutions) are suffering of various problems. Officially, they all claim that troubles with hosted websites are due to maintainance or server moves. I frankly suspect them to lie and hide the truth. If you're interested in such kind of topics, I suggest you to check out the excellent website GRC and mainly the recent article concerning a "new" kind of DOS (denial of service) attacks : the Distributed Reflection Denial of Service (DRDOS). Then, I am sure that you'll get my point. If you've also noticed some abnormal troubles with your ISP, webhosters, service providers, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks for your attention. |
