PJ64 1.4 is out and released. Unfortunately, this the
very last version you'll ever see of this great N64 emulator. Hopefully, it adds a long,
long list of improvements :
R4300i Core and Executable:
-fix bug in DSLL32
-fix bug in initial registers
-fix bug in mtc0
-re did cheats totaly
-added self mod method change memory
-fixed mempak
-fixed manual and auto pauses
-made ini files able to read/write beyond 64k
-Added disabled advanced Linking
-added Idel time to cpu %'s
-pauses now when minimized
-fixed mario party 3 complaining when it was reset
-added rom browser
-added change memory & cache as a self mod method
-re-wrote a lot of fpu again
Direct3D (plugin):
-Texture downloads rewritten, way faster
-Implemented an anisotropic filtering option
-Ucode option is now greyed unless needed
-Reverse engineered environment mapping for more accuracy
-Microcode emulation restructured to be more specific, also in user interface
-Updated to Direct3D 7.0, as a result hardware accelerated transforms are now available,
but you have to use the external transform pipeline (obviously)
-Support for Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini (internal pipeline only?) and Diddy Kong
Racing (internal pipeline only!)
-Implemented full 2D scissoring, and 3D scissoring for internal pipeline
-Added an option to use anti-aliasing (must toggle before rom open?)
-Higher quality coplanar surfaces on recent video cards
-Fixed goldeneye multiplayer(?), the sky is black now too
-Fixed Skulltula's fire, water temple shadow battle water, and lens of truth in zelda64
(must use 32bpp textures?)
-Rewrote paths for TNT cards, a bit slower but easier to work with and more reliable, if
the drivers get fixed it won't be needed anymore (turn validate blending for this now!)
-Removed "auto" frame buffer emulation
-Option to allow low-level buffer clears
-Features "geometry optimization", or just indexing
-Got rid of a few exceptions in some games
-Reverse engineered fog, slightly buggy? but looks cool
-Texture quality went back to a combo box, it also affects things on the fly now
-Rewrote the entire blending emulation section, it should be better
-When ucode detection fails (rarely) it will now switch to the right tab
-Expanded the vsync option to include a lot more flexibility
-Full screen ALT+TAB is now more reliable (Windows98 only?)
-Added Apply button to the configuration
-The Project64 rom database can set the geometry pipeline now when the setting is
"automatic", if the rom database has an entry called "Geometry
Pipeline" it will use that, if not, it will use the external pipeline as the default
-The Project64 rom database can set the N64 screen resolution to over-ride internal
calculations, these keys are "Resolution Width" and "Resolution
Height".
-PAL resolutions should be properly detected
RSP:
-Interpreter core integrated better, and a selectable alternative to the recompiler
-Option for allowing the RSP to process display lists is now available (not all games will
work with this, it requires a more complete LLE GFX plugin than PJ's)
Direct Sound:
-Removed exception handling from the thread
-Changed the way the queue thread stops and starts for initialization and rom opens,
reliability should be better
Direct Input:
-Dialog items moved around a little to accompany the new mempak option.
