Today is a date ... Ultra HLe, the first N64 emulator to play *flawlessly* some commercial roms is 3 years old. You read it right. this is something newcomers may don't know (have you missed the emulation's golden age?), it is 3 years old today. So once again, respect and congrats to Epsilon & RealityMan for sharing with us that great piece of software.

No update for a week ? Please blame Windows. In the meantime, I have been working on my Ultra/Supra Hle and completed another guide ...
Flow (at www.emulation64.com) recently suggested me to release a Nemu cheats
guide I made a while back. So here it is. If you've always been wondering about Nemu cheat
system, that quick tutorial should help you out. Ultra Hle or Game shark codes
conversions, all you need is there.
Thanks again to flow for the idea.

Well, since I know that regular updates are oftenly
appreciated, here are a few words about my current projects.
Finally, there MIGHT be a very last ultra.ini file released. Recently, I have
managed to get a hold of several informations and reverse some interesting parts of both
Ultra Hle and some N64 roms. Currently, quite a few roms are either booting up (such as
Pilot wings, Zelda MoM, Donkey Kong 64), showing up something (Army Men Air Combat,
Castlevania ...) and why not turn out to be playable (Robotron 64, Tony Hawk pro Skater)
with or without any major problem.
You can view some screenshots here.
Dave2001 has update his glide plugin twice in week. The
latest version mainly adds full support for Voodoo 2 cards, a user friendly configuration
and fixes a bunch of problems.
You can check the the author's site here or download the file from our plugins
page (WHQ).

Dave2001 has just released his glide plugin for PJ64 and
probably several other emulators. This is the version 1.0b of his plugin and you can now
report any crash or unrecoverable error at the author. The plugin
is not complete yet but this is a rather good news and I am myself gone testing it right
away.
You can donwload the plugin over here.

A fixed executable has been released for 1964 0.7.3. Just
replace the previous elulator's executable with this new one. This hould fix the bug that
prevented some roms to work correctly
You can download it here or check our N64 page.

1964 version v0.7.2 is available. 1964 is a Windows based
N64 emulator and is probable the one offering the best compatibility/speed ratio.
It currently adds the following enhancements :
- 1964 support for mempak/rumblepak in N-Rage and SJR input plugins
- A few emulation bug fixes.
- Experimental 32bit core compiler option. Read Advanced_Users.txt for more information.
- Plenty more speed.
- Optional cpu usage profile stats are viewable in the status bar to see r4300i %, video
%, audio %, and idle %
- Enhancements and bug fixes to the GUI.
Source code of the previous 1964 binary public version should be made available
soon (I hope).
You can download 1964 latest release here.
Feel free to check 1964 official
website.

The Company is proud to wish you a happy new year. Quite
a lot of changes happened at The Company in the past year. Some members left, some members
joined, we've got a new web site, some more releases and we hope to keep on satisfying you
here, at The Last Resort, or anywhere in our network.
I, DominaTor, would like to thank all of those who've been supporting me in the past year
and all of you for visiting our web sites and using our products.
2002 will be an interesting year for the emulation world. Most of the old systems have
been emulated and yesterday's "next-gen" consoles are now almost fully emulated
and may soon turn into nostalgia (the n64 is now about 6 years old and and the Playstion
about 7 years old).
PSX users now have a bunch of complete and efficient commercial and public domain
emulators. It is just too bad that Bleem! left us that way. In the other hand, it is nice
to see that the emulation still remains a non-profit odissey. Or better say, a non
commercial hobby.
N64 emu users also have a great choice between several neat emulators. In the past
year, PJ 64 has probably been the coolest "surprise" for most of you. We also
had the chance to appreciate several emulators evolution : 1964, Apollo, Daedalus, TR64,
just to name a few. 2002 might be the last year in the n64 emulation golden age. But only
time will tell ...
It is also going to be interesting to see how the emulation scene will treat the newest
released systems. Is the emulation community mature enough to stop releasing some
emulators running commercial games when it is targeting some "still alive
systems" ?
In the end, I wish we could set up a standard of reasonable rules and make our best
so that we won't be treated like "warez" or "Napster like" community
...
Let's have a happy year to gether again ;)
Duncan has once again released an updated ini file. This time it is a Daedalus ini file. Duncan has brought his serie to version 1.7. You grab Duncan's ini file from our N64 page.
